So, your Transition Week here at St Mary’s College is nearly over. We hope you enjoyed it and are looking forward to coming in September. Before you leave, the Head of Transition, Mrs Hardy, has a few words to say to you. “The new Year 7’s are fantastic.
They have settled in very well and are mature and appreciative. I think the best thing about Transition Week is seeing the children relax and make new friends. They have grown in confidence and I am really proud of them!” Her expectations of you are very high.
Mrs Hardy expects you all to be ready to work, make good choices, and appreciate the school and everything that it has to offer. “My advice to the Year 6’s is; Make the most of your time here. Join clubs and be confident and talk to new people. Also, check your planner every night, make sure that you have written in any homework, and even write in if you don’t have any homework, and make sure that one of your parents has signed your planner every weekend.
And finally, pack and check your school bag every night. Make sure you have everything for the next day and prepared. “We sincerely hope that you have all made new friends and got to know your tutors as well, form and personal tutors. Your year team work unbelievably hard to make your lives here fantastic and need some appreciation, (and a break!), once in a while. So, when you see a member of your year team, say thank you and think about how much hard work has gone into making this week special for you all!
